Mission Statement

Koch Woodworking specializes in making hand carved wooden bowls utilizing Iowa “found” wood.  We collect wood from downed Iowa trees and demolished or remodeled Iowa buildings.  We use common hand and power carving tools to turn this Iowa wood into wooden bowls.  All bowls are coated with a food safe finish and are suitable for everyday use, gifting or display.   We have made bowls from Iowa walnut, ash, elm, oak, basswood, hickory, catalpa, iron wood, mulberry, pine, honey locust and maple.  We are always on the lookout for new woods to include in our product line, allowing us to bring the best mix of bowls to our customers.

Custom Carving Services

Koch Woodworking provides custom carving services.  If you have saved a piece of wood from a favorite tree, building or any large object made of wood, we can carve this into one or more bowls for everyday use, display in your home or a gift for all occasions.  Prices vary according to the type of wood and the size of the bowl(s) you would like us to make.  Please feel free to call us anytime to discuss your project.
